The thermal baths in Santa Cesarea are equipped to benefit from mud baths, inhalations and nebulizations. The hydrosulfur waters spring from four caves: Gattulla, Bagno Marina, Sulfurea and la Fetida.
Poggiardo, small center of medieval origins, is rich of artistic and natural attractions as:
- The museum, preserves many frescos and findings from the Byzantine crypt of S. Maria degli Angeli;
- Villa Episcopo one of the most beautiful XIX cent. villas in the province of Lecce;
- The Mother Church built in the old quarter known as “la terra”, in Baroque style;
- The Aragonese castle;
- Serra di Poggiardo will soon become a natural and archaeological reserve. Every Wednesday morning you’ll be able to buy from food to clothes in the local street market that takes place in the centre of town. In July and August the streets of the old quarter host the antiques and craft fair every Saturday night.
